Every now and then, PureVPN has a tempting offer to buy bargain plans. For this reason, I will call it the cheapest VPN in this review. At least for the time being. How does PureVPN work, is it a fast VPN and is it worth the money? You will find out in this review.
PureVPN has mostly positive reviews online, but when I look at Google Play, for example, it has 4 stars. That’s a bit worse than the competition, but we know these reviews. Usually, poor application ratings are caused, for example, by the fact that users themselves have incorrectly set up devices and so on. So I decided to do my own PureVPN test and review to see how the service actually works.
What is PureVPN?
PureVPN is a paid VPN service with over 6500 servers in 78+ countries. As I wrote before, at the time of writing the review, it is one of the cheapest VPNs that can be purchased. You may be wondering if it offers everything you expect from a VPN? Yes, it does. Here are other reasons to get PureVPN:
- For example, it offers the ability to connect 10 devices at a time, otherwise you can install PureVPN on an unlimited number of devices
- Apps available for: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Linux, game consoles, routers, smart TVs
- 31-day money back guarantee
- 24/7 support
- low price
This VPN service has excellent speed test results, even on remote servers. Of course, there are also high security policies, but on the other hand, I have to note that PureVPN has servers in Russia for example. Some VPNs have been withdrawn from Russia because government authorities want to check data on servers located in the Russian Federation. Of course, this means a certain danger for users using Russian VPN servers. I don’t know about PureVPN’s security in this case, and I’m not going to speculate about it. Anyway, I have to praise the presence of servers in Russia, because compared to competing VPNs this is abig advantage for PureVPN.
Why use PureVPN?
Because it will help you solve some of the security risks that arise from using the Internet itself. And it will also help you, for example, unblock streaming services, allow you to download from torrents or play games. For all of these activities, PureVPN is a fast and convenient VPN.
Unblock streaming services
Whether you want to watch live sports or watch a new series that’s blocked for your location, a VPN can help.
PureVPN has high-speed servers in different parts of the world, so that alone should guarantee that the show you are watching doesn’t lag and can be watched smoothly. No limits.
There is no need to search for complex settings in the application. All I have to do is connect to the server in the country for which the service is not blocked. With VPN apps, you have the advantage that you can use them on different devices, so you can watch sports on your mobile phone. Like on the train on your way to work, or when you’re in church with your grandmother.
You can download safely from torrents
P2P networks carry various security risks. First, you share files with other users. This carries the risk that anyone can connect to your device. Thanks to that, your IP address is revealed. This increases the security risk of the device you are using.
Downloading from torrents is actually not illegal. Often, people download things like scientific studies and other data, Linux distributions, software updates, and so on using torrents. Thus, torrents are not just about illegally downloading movies or software.
The advantage of using P2P networks is that data is downloaded from several different sources. This allows me to download the data very quickly.
You will browse the Internet anonymously
As soon as you connect to a website, institutions such as the Internet provider, the site you visit, advertising and analytics services, and more begin to collect data about you. It is not dangerous in itself, but the problem is that they then have a large amount of different information about you. In some countries, government agencies may also have access to this data.
In my opinion, however, the biggest evil and risk when browsing the Internet are ISPs, followed by marketing agencies. The Internet provider has the ability to track visited sites, downloaded files, online conversations. This is very sensitive data, even if you are not doing anything illegal.
And, of course, marketing agencies. They examine you from another side. Because there are various analytical codes placed on the website, advertising agencies have an easy job to make your personality profile. They don’t know exactly who you are, but they do know what you prefer, where you shop, what your browsing habits are. Accordingly, they can target your ad well. You can learn more about collection and data in our review of Incogni – Erasure Request Tools.
When you use a secure VPN, you suddenly lose sight of these spies. When using PureVPN, they just can’t see you. Suddenly, you’re free in the online world.
How does PureVPN work?
I’ve read in some reviews that PureVPN has disconnectionissues, and that you can’t connect to a lot of servers. This criticism in reviews mostly concerns the PureVPN android app. How was my experience?
For me, the PureVPN app worked well. Not once did it happen to me that it would disconnect and I did not come across a server where it would not be possible to connect. Of course, I am not saying that this cannot happen. PureVPN itself admits that the Android app uses OpenVPN protocols, which may be restricted in some regions, which is why frequent disconnections occur. For this reason, it is recommended that you use a manual L2TP configuration.
I have to commend that the PureVPN browser plugin works independently of the app. Thus, there is no need to install an application for Windows, and you can only use extensions in the Internet browser. I recently complained about this in an ExpressVPN review where it doesn’t work like that. That really annoyed me about the overpriced VPN.
Is PureVPN fast?
PureVPN is a fast VPN. To convince you, I have made several measurements on servers in different parts of the world. I could describe here how impressed I was by PureVPN’s speed, but I think the measured chart speaks for itself.
|Measured speed values
|USA (New York)
|Brazil (Sao Paulo)
|New Zealand (Auckland)
|United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
How much does PureVPN cost?
PureVPN has several pricing plans. The longest price plan is the longest price, which is for 27 months, but you only pay for 24 months and get 3 months for free. That’s a very tempting proposition, which is why I’ve named PureVPN the cheapest VPN. So it’s a matter of time whether PureVPN will become more expensive or whether the price will still be this good.
The most expensive subscription is for one month. This form of subscription is disadvantageous for all VPNs. For example, I can mention Private Internet Access or NordVPN. A little more advantageous is the tariff for 12 months, but here you have to count on the fact that it will come out against the tariff for 27 months only about $ 10 cheaper., It is simply worth taking the longest tariff.
How to save on PureVPN?
Like any best VPN PureVPN has different marketing incentives every now and then. This means that they will offer you a better price. For example, when I was looking at PureVPN’s price list on their website, a window popped up offering a 5-year subscription. If I used it, 1 month of PureVPN would cost me $1.49. This will make the price for one month a little cheaper than the tariff for 27 months. It takes quite a long time for that window to pop up, and so there’s no guarantee. Another option is to use a discount code, with which you have the discount for sure, and you do not have to wait for the window to pop up.
What devices can I use PureVPN on?
PureVPN can be used on any device. Applications are available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, also for iOS, Android. Add-ons can be downloaded to Chrome and Firefox web browsers. PureVPN can be used on smart TVs, routers, and so on.

Pros and Cons of PureVPN
|+ Bargain price
|- Browser plugin sets up system-wide VPN connections
|+ 6500+ servers
|- Windows app is less clear
|+ Use on 10 devices at once
|+ Works on streaming and sports servers
|+ Cross-system and browser applications
I hope I’ve proved to you in this review that you don’t have to worry about buying PureVPN. It certainly has some flaws, but every VPN service has that. Although I put in the negatives that the application for Windows is less clear, but on the other hand, it is relatively simple to control. I just didn’t like the bright-themed look of it. It may take from the Windows settings.
What I don’t like more is that when I use the PureVPN plugin in my internet browser and connect to the VPN with it, it sets up a system-wide VPN connection. For example, Private Internet Access doesn’t do this, and it’s better. Actually, that’s why I only have the plugin in that browser, right? I have to praise that the plugin works even without the application installed in Windows. ExpressVPN can’t do that.
Would I recommend PureVPN? Yes, recommended. The first reason is its favorable price, another reason is all the necessary security features, fast VPN connection, and actually the ease of using applications. Try PureVPN for yourself, as they have a 31-day money-back guarantee, so it’s risk-free.
